Mandate
The Long Range Regional Economic Development Board is the lead economic development agency for Zone 9.

The Board is a non-profit community based organization, with a volunteer Board of Directors representing stakeholder groups such as municipalities, education, rural development associations, youth, business and other community economic development groups.

Mission Statement
'The Long Range Regional Economic Development Board will develop community economic partnerships to implement long term solutions to regional economic and social development initiatives through a collaborate approach.'

The Board has five core functions, that include:

  1. To take a leadership role in the development and implementation of a strategic economic plan for the Zone.
  2. To coordinate business development support.
  3. To support organizations and communities within the Zone.
  4. To coordinate social and economic initiatives relating to economic development.
  5. To promote public participation and community education.
